Facebook Don’ts for Property Managers

Don’t assume diverse rules apply to online communication

You should communicate with your tenants (potential or existing) the same way you’ll communicate with them if you met them in person. Ensure that you interact with your online audience with the same etiquette, patience, and respect. Avoid using certain unprofessional words or abuses.

Ensure you don’t eschew comments

After setting up your Facebook account, ensure you are always active in case a potential customer has a question for you.  Do not ignore online questions, no matter how dumb they may be. Ignoring online questions from your followers will make them feel that you don’t care. Engage with your audience at all times, because it demonstrates a strong professional property management brand.

Do not remove negative feedbacks

Ensure you provided answers to negative feedback on your Facebook page. The answers or replies should be provided in the most appropriate way and with respect. Rather than deleting all negative feedbacks, consider addressing them with the best wisdom because doing so will provide you with more credibility. Managing reviews will promote the reputation and credibility of your brand.

Don’t post irrelevant information

Your Facebook page is for posting relevant photos, information, and details regarding your listings and not for posting irrelevant information that does not tally with your industry. If you post a photo or information that your followers don’t find useful, you’ll be creating a wrong impression about your brand. Post pictures of the properties that are available for rent, post pictures about ongoing housing projects to keep your followers engaged, including any other information you think is beneficial to your followers. Don’t for any reason post things that are outside your domain.
